After pickup from your hotel, head to Florida’s west coast aboard a comfortable coach limo. During the 90-minute bus ride, your driver will give you a brief introduction to everything you’ll find in Clearwater Beach.
When you arrive, you’ll receive a bagged lunch that you can bring on the shore excursion. First, head over to the marina where you’ll depart for Compass Island on a fully narrated boat tour to learn about the small shellfish and various reef fish that call the ocean home.
Through a partnership with the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, The Sea Life Safari catch and release program is the only cruise that lets you see, touch and learn about the marine creature’s native to Florida’s Gulf Coast. You can expect to find puffer fish, starfish, sea horses, horseshoe crabs and many other fascinating sea creatures in the nets that troll behind the boat.
The tour continues to Compass Island where you’ll get the unique opportunity to explore a protected bird sanctuary nestled among the mangroves. The tour also includes a shelling excursion where you can explore the shoreline and collect seashells.
Back on Clearwater Beach, you’ll have 2-3 hours of free time to explore the beachside. Take a stroll down Pier 60, browse the souvenir shops for a t-shirt or postcard, or simply relax with your toes in the soft, white sand. If you wish, beach umbrellas, chairs, snorkeling gear and other watersports equipment can be rented from spots all along the beach.
