Orlando, FL is touted as America’s theme park capital but there are a few things you should know before venturing out Labor Day weekend.
1. Avoid long lines, visit Orlando’s smaller attractions
Everyone will be hitting the parks over Labor Day weekend so stay away from Orlando’s main attractions until the week following Labor Day when park attendance is lowest. If you want to avoid extra-long lines and ride wait times visit Kennedy Space Center or Gatorland instead. These attractions are usually not as packed as the larger parks during the holidays and they are full of adventures at half the cost like NASAs astronaut encounter, airboat river safari and gator zipline adventure.
2. Save money and time, arrange transportation ahead of time
Don’t get frustrated with rental cars, directions, tolls and parking fees! Take the high road and book roundtrip transportation to all Orlando’s attractions, save money and time by booking ahead. If you’re staying at Walt Disney World Resort you’ll want to take advantage of the Magical Express Shuttle Service, it is complimentary and runs all day from Orlando International Airport to Disney resorts and parks. Many attractions have an option to upgrade your ticket to include round-trip transportation. Now for a limited time, when you reserve transportation for a Kennedy Space Center Daytrip from Orlando, meet a veteran member of NASAs Astronaut Corps for free.
Of course, Florida is always bright and sunny so make sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and don’t forget to wear sneakers— closed toed shoes are a must when you’re theme park hopping!
